Iron Fish

Iron Fish is a Layer 1 blockchain aiming to be the universal privacy layer for all of Web3. It uses zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs) and the highest industry standards for encryption, enabling users to have fully private transactions—a true SSL layer for all blockchains.In March 2025, Base acquired the Iron Fish development team to develop privacy protection primitives for Base. The specific acquisition amount was not disclosed. This acquisition is limited to the Iron Fish team and does not involve the Iron Fish network, tokens or its technology. The Iron Fish project will remain independent and is not affiliated with Coinbase or Base.
